Double Degree

As the backbone of its international academic reputation, Centrale Lille has developed double degree programmes with carefully selected universities, giving international students access to the school’s engineering courses.

International students complete part of their studies at their home university (master’s level) and a maximum of two years at Centrale Lille, earning both the degree from their home university and the engineering degree or the master’s degree from Centrale Lille.

Each year, Centrale Lille’s partner universities organise a selection process for candidates wishing to do a double degree at Centrale Lille. Selected students go on to study at Centrale Lille.

We welcome double degree students in the following courses:

  • École Centrale de Lille (generalist engineer: years 1 and 2 or years 2 and 3 of the engineering cycle)
Find out more: description of double degrees
  • École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (chemical engineer)
  • Master’s Programmes

Pursuing a double degree at Centrale Lille requires a good command of the teaching language (minimum certified level B1).

Non-Degree mobility and Erasmus exchanges

Centrale Lille also provides international students from its partner universities the opportunity to complete one or two academic semesters of a non-degree mobility programme. These periods of study allow you to validate ECTS credits which will be recognised in your home university thanks to existing agreements with Centrale Lille. It’s also a great way to find out about our approach to engineering education, and to explore a wide range of disciplines.

We welcome non-degree mobility students in the following courses:

  • ENSCL chemical engineering programme (semester or academic year)

Non-degree mobility at Centrale Lille requires a good command of the French language (certified B1 level minimum), except for programmes in English (see below).

Mobility programmes in English

To complement these mobility programmes taught in French, Centrale Lille has developed a range of non-degree training courses in English.

École Centrale de Lille :

École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille:

  • Exchange semester (September to end of January, 3rd year majors, Master level)
  • Exchange year (September to August, Master 2 level, courses during the 1st semester, then work placement in a laboratory or company over the 2nd semester)

Laboratory internships

Our laboratories regularly welcome international students for internship periods of up to 6 months. This type of placement is particularly recommended for students at the end of their bachelor’s/French licence or master’s degree.

Please note that internships in our laboratories do not result in ECTS being awarded by Centrale Lille.
